In 1972, with limited funds and a modest culinary background, Piero Selvaggio opened a small Italian restaurant in a decidedly unglamorous Santa Monica neighborhood. Forty-five years later, Selvaggio continued to welcome guests to what had become a culinary landmark. The Valentino Cookbook draws on Selvaggio's extensive experience as a restaurateur, and, most of all, a lover of food and wine.
